Spark Facts

Spark Marketing began in 2017 when Kate Russell decided the juggle of full time employment, studying, motherhood, caring for her mother and trying to live a happy, healthy life was too much. She handed in her notice and took some time out. Fate intervened when shortly after, a friend asked Kate to help with some content marketing at the engineering firm where her father served his apprenticeship. Kate never looked back and Spark Marketing was born.

Spark HQ is based on a plot of family land in the beautiful West Sussex countryside. The antithesis of the snooty urban marketing agency, Spark Marketing HQ is also home to two rescue horses, four rescue dogs, four ducks and a mob of rescued ex-battery hens!

Kate’s passion for engineering projects and heavy machinery comes from her father - who ran a steam engine restoration and boiler making business. Many people are surprised to hear Kate has her own full size steam engine which she takes to steam shows. Perhaps we’ll see you at one soon?
